The beginnings of the discovery of bread

There is something holy about breaking bread with someone. Sharing a meal. Talking over food. It’s connective. That’s why our celebrations are often over...

The beginnings of the discovery of bread

As isolated humans formed societies, they felt protected and could trade more effortless. Therefore, the expanded association boosted the gene pool, but more people during a concentrated space necessitated an expansion of food cultivation. Bread, created mostly from harvested wheat, moved to the middle of the menu in ancient Europe, West Asia, and North Africa. Similarly, the middle staple within the Americas was a sort of bread built on a fine grain: maize, and in East Asia, the grain was rice.

Early wheat, called Emmer, grew wild, and making bread from it led to genetic tinkering to make the

primary domestically cultivated wheat, called Einkorn. As bread became a standard food, those that grew, it got some safety due to it. Marauding non-societal humans raided settlements, but they might not easily steal wheat within the field or carry off quite a couple of sacks of grain. They would have probably asked for pockets of pills, to spare the beds thus. Should the marauders take a whole village, grain farmers were still needed, so why not leave them to ply their trade?

From ancient times until today, the aroma of freshly baked bread excites the senses, especially the sense of smell. It is common to present food as a gift to customers and as a menu in most old restaurants. The phrase "let's eat together" means that someone has offered to share their bread with you and that you are welcomed into their home as a guest of honor..

Bread is the most important blessing in life

Perhaps because bread was so necessary for humans, Jesus mentioned it when he instituted the prayer ("the Lord's Prayer") that he taught to his disciples. One line in the prayer is "Give us our daily bread today." Manna, who was said to be the king of the Hebrews who fell from heaven during their exit from slavery in Egypt, was like bread. Bread offered to shepherds or strangers is a blessing. Asking for daily bread from God or receiving manna from heaven is a blessing from God.

Most bread is processed by a distant industrial bakery in the modern Western world, formed into a loaf, pre-sliced for the consumer's convenience, functional, practical, and familiar. But, the mouth-watering aroma, the sensation of welcome in its serving, and beauty itself are missing. "Here is your sandwich. Eat it."

Jesus used the bread of his last evening meal to explain to his disciples how his earthly service would end, and thus the need to return to God's book and His Sunnah.

Broken bread is not cut evenly. Some of the pupils already got big chunks and some others. Small, but also, symbolism is rich. Everyone receives the grace of God. We call it the elegance we love, not what we love.
